| The New Zealand flag. Script: A list of all the Maori tribes. Behind the red stars that represent the Southern Cross is a tukutuku design, Purapura Whetu meaning ‘stars in heaven’ Blue: North East coast, this is where it is believed that Kupe (Polynesian explorer) first sighted (Aotearoa) land with the long white cloud hovering above it. Kowhaiwhai Design: Patiki or Flounder -Symbol of hospitality. |
